The 2011 American Idol season 10 odds have been updated, showing who will win the battle between Scott McCreery and Lauren Alaina on the reality music competition. Yes, people actually gamble on who will win American Idol Season 10, making predictions in favor of contestants at all stages of the competition.
The American Idol odds for the season finale, favor Scott McCreery at 1 to 5. His opponent, Lauren Alaina, has odds of 3 to 1. It's looking like McCreery has an edge all the way around after weeks of the singing competition have come down to this. America has voted and eliminated most of their peers, bringing these two to the finals. At the conclusion of Wednesday night's show host Ryan Seacrest will announce the next American Idol.
McCreery and Alaina are both under 18 years old, but both participate in the country music genre. They've survived weeks of the AI on-stage battles to get into this position. With all that said, the winner doesn't always become the biggest success story. A good example of that is Jennifer Hudson, who has gone on to not only achieve music notoriety, but also an Academy Award for her role in the "Dreamgirls." Not a bad prize for a so-called American Idol loser, so whoever loses Wednesday evening, should still reach for the stars.
It's always interesting to note that sports aren't the only thing people bet on. Beyond American Idol, there's been wagers placed on Dancing With The Stars and even who will the Nobel Peace Prize.
